Our story is tied to the Hudson Bay Axe. We started canoeing in the 1970's in Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area with our Dad who always carried his trusty Norlund Hudson Bay Axe on those trips.  This one's for you Dad. Say hello to The Voyageur! Inspired by the Hudson Bay style axe made by Bangor's Snow & Nealley before WWII, the Voyageur has a 2 lb. U.S. 1045 carbon steel head hung on a 24" Amish-turned hickory handle secured by a black walnut wedge. [And if you are interested in the story we told Down East Magazine about our Dad's axe you can find it here.] To celebrate our 10th anniversary of bringing axe making back to Maine, we are stamping each of our Voyageurs with a pine tree & north star stamp and our anniversary logo on the sheath!
