Fiber Strategy Toolkit (1H 2025)
The Fiber Strategy Toolkit is an essential strategic resource for anyone building fiber infrastructure. It includes nationwide data from the FCC Fabric v5 November 2024 release (coverage as of 6-30-2024). The Toolkit exploits the FCC's new hexagonal (H3) framework. It includes a long list of fiber-related data sets, showing both presence (the existence of the specified service) and depth (the percentage of locations in each hexagon served at the specified level). Key dimensions include: Residential at multiple speeds Residential vs. Business Speed of 1000 Mbps/1000 Mbps, 100Mbps/20Mbps, 25Mbps/3Mbps, and any performance. The Toolkit identifies opportunities to build, including areas that are populated but currently have no residential fiber. It visualizes this information by highlighting level 8 hexagons based on location densities of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, and 500 locations per level 8 hexagon. Higher densities in general represent compelling business
