Aechmea triangularis

Aechmea triangularis is a species exclusive to the State of Espírito Santo in eastern Brazil. This stout and upright plant showcases chartreuse-gold leaves adorned with robust black marginal spines. Prior to flowering, the leaves fold back, forming a distinctive triangular shape and are flushed with a deep red hue. As the flower spike emerges, it displays dark pink bracts along the stem and a compact, cone-like flower head consisting of fuzzy silvery-white petals and dark blue flowers. The intensity of the gold color in the leaves is influenced by the amount of light it receives, with more light resulting in a richer golden hue. In shaded conditions, the leaves tend to appear lighter green.
