Antique Jeweled Bronze Altar OfferingWish Fulfilling Jewel Kalachakra Syllable SealOrigin: Tibetan. Circa: 19th century and earlierH 11.5 in.(29cm), W 4.25 in.(11cm), D 3.25 in.(8cm)Condition: excellent! A finely worked bronze Tantric altar implement, detailed with hammered in sacred symbols, and a hand-carved large amber mounted in repousse silver frame. On one side is the ferocious 4-armed God of Wealth of the Kalachakra Tantra, Vajravega 金剛力, and on the reverse, a fearsome protector deity Dorje Legpa 金剛善護法 in a lacquer cane hat with a bow and arrow in his hands. Mystifying with a flickering light-diffusing translucency, they sit above an hourglass-shaped bronze pedestal as a sanctified wish-fulfilling jewel in ritual offerings. Four auspicious symbols (Endless Knot, Sanka Conch, Treasure Vase, Dharmachakra) are embedded in the floral motifs. On the flared base are two Buddha figures seated in meditation.
