
Sorrel Hot Pepper Sauce
Shaquanda’s Sorrel Hot Pepper Sauce is a sweet, tart and spicy blend of fresh strawberries, red cherries, habanero chili, and six single origin spices, all tinted a stunning berry rose by our Desert Hibiscus. Created in collaboration with Brooklyn drag performer and chef Andre Springer—aka Shaquanda—this sauce began as part of a stage performance and grew into a beloved expression of culture and flavor. “The flavors here are reminiscent of a sorrel drink that we Caribbean and African people grew up drinking,” Andre says. “It reminds me of summer, and of what a melting pot is—bright, flavorful spices coming together to create something joyful.” Drizzle it into cocktails, top a taco with a few dashes, or use it anywhere you want a sweet, spicy burst of sunshine.
