If you have ever owned a buggy you know that getting good brakes is nearly impossible.  Manual brakes are marginal...  Even the best combinations don't compare to hydroboost.  Driveline brakes stop extremely well but creates a large amount of heat and cant be used at high speeds.  If a driveshaft fails you loose brakes at that axle.   Vacuum boosters are large and difficult to package.  performance camshafts create low vacuum levels and superchargers create positive pressure.  Each of these systems will eliminate a vacuum booster from being used.   Hydroboost brakes are the best brakes you'll ever find.  The problem is that the hydroboost in stock form creates a restriction in performance power steering systems.
