Small Spine Huancabamba JS131

grown from Mesa Garden seed, I have been growing this plant since 2010 this is one of three seeds grown out by MSS and described as a “thick plant with fuller spines”, a sister plant to small spine huancabamba JS130 The seeds were labeled by Mesa Garden as ‘peru Huancabamba’, but the offspring were commonly called ‘pach Huancabamba’ when grown by the columnar cactus community. Seeds collected at Huancamba by a Dutch citizen who was married to a Peruvian. I believe most of the Huancabambas in collections are cuttings from the seeds started by Sacred Succulents, but these seeds were also grown out by a handful of cactus enthusiasts in the early 2000’s.
