Struck between 1020 to 1028 CE and attributed to the sole reign of Emperor Constantine VIII and also to the last few years of Emperor Basel II. Catalog: Sear 1818, Class A3, 8.45g, approx 25mm. Certified by NGC to Ch AU, Strike 4/5, Surface 4/5 (near max subgrades, extremely rare as such). Obverse: bust of Jesus Christ facing wearing nimbus cr. and holding book of gospels. Reverse: legend translates: JESUS CHRIST KING OF KINGS.
