Very Fine Roman Empire bronze AE sestertius coin. Struck for Emperor Antoninus Pius at the Rome Mint. RIC 717a, 27.73g (full weight), approx 33mm. Commemorative issue struck to celebrate the award of Imperator for the second time to the Emperor. This resulted from the Roman Legion's victories in Britain. Well struck with full legends. Certified by NGC to VF Smoothing (not distracting). Obverse: ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P COS III, laureate head facing right. Reverse: IMPERATOR II SC, Victory flying right holding trophy in both hands. Victory was the personification of military triumph by the Roman Legions.
