Extremely Fine England Great Britain Edward VI silver 6 pence coin. Spink S-2483, approx 27mm, 2.93g. The "Boy King" son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour, ascended the throne at age 9 and ruled only six years. Scarce first 6 pence coin type struck for Great Britain! Rare variety with mint mark y (12:00 obverse) denoting struck 1551 at the London Tower Mint. Well struck and centered. Certified by NGC to XF Details Bent (not significantly distracting).  Obverse: Crowned facing bust of Edward with Tudor rose to left and denomination VI to right, EDWARD VI D G AGL FRN Z HIB REX (Edward VI by the grace of God King of England France & Ireland). Reverse: Long cross fourchee over royal shield, POSVI DEV ADIVITORE MEV (I have made God my helper).
