Extremely Fine Elizabeth I England (Great Britain) hammered silver 4 pence or groat coin, approx. 23mm. Spink 2556, Second issue. Tower (London) Mint, Mint Mark: Martlet, Struck 1560-1561 (located 12:30 obverse and reverse). Certified by NGC to XF 40, Population Census: This coin, only 5 higher. Obverse: Crowned bust (1F) of Elizabeth facing left wearing fancy bodice, long hair on back, ELIZABETH D G AN FR ET HIB REGINA (Elizabeth by the grace of God Queen of England France & Ireland). Reverse: Coat-of-arms over long cross fourchée of England & France, POSVI DEV ADIVTOREM MEV (I have made God my helper).
