Roman Empire silver denarius coin. Struck for Emperor Antoninus Pius at the Rome Mint. RIC 291b, Foss 80 (attributed to 158 CE), 3.42g, approx 17mm. Superb style with abundant luster, very appealing in hand! Historic commemorative type issued to celebrate the 20th reign anniversary. NGC Certified to Ch XF, brushed (very light and hardly detectable). Appears to be conservatively graded. Pedigree, ex Freeman and Sear with their ticket. Obverse: ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P XXII, laureate head right. Reverse: VOTA SOL DEC II COS IIII, Antoninus Pius veiled, standing left, sacrificing with patera over tripod, left arm at side, by tripod a bull.
