Mint State Uncirculated Durham South Shields conder token coin, D&H 4. Certified by NGC to MS 64 BN, Population Census: 5 coins, only 3 higher (MS65). The only token from Durham, South Shields. Well struck, nicely detailed with considerable original red, very nice in hand. Obverse: figure of a Faith standing holding a book, SOUTH SHIELDS HALFPENNY 1794.  Reverse: a coal tender ship sailing to the right with lantern, flag and bow nautical figurehead, SUCCESS TO THE COAL TRADE. Edge: PAYABLE AT SOUTH SHIELDS AND LONDON.
