Extremely Fine France silver 5 francs coin. Struck for Napoleon I at the Paris Mint (mint mark A), privy mark Rooster. Dated AN 12 = mid 1803 to mid 1804. Two obverse type were used during AN 12: Consulate: bust with legend: BONAPARTE PREMIER CONSUL. First Empire: bust with legend: NAPOLEON EMPEREUR. The First Empire type with EMPEREUR is rare. Certified by NGC to XF 45. Dark toned, images taken with oblique lighting to show underlying luster and strike details. Very pleasing in hand!
