Emperor Septimius Severus, victor in the Civil Wars following the death of Commodus. Established the Severan Dynasty. Rare reverse legend type. Certified by NGC to Ch VF, nicely detailed with great presentation of Emperor on horseback. Apparently Unpublished blundered reverse legend: SPQR OPTIMO PBINCIPI, should read: SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI Obverse: IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II, laureate bust of emperor right.
