Roman Empire silver denarius coin. First Issue type (PLAVTILLAE) struck for Empress Plautilla, wife of Emperor Caracalla between 202 and 205 CE. 3.39g, RIC 359 (rated as scarce).    Certified by NGC to Ch VF. Concordia refers to the family harmony with Septimius Severus, Julia Domna, Caracalla, Paultilla and Geta.  Obverse: PLAVTILLAE AVGVSTA, Bust draped right, hair firmly waived and drawn into bun. Reverse: CONCORDIA AVGG, Concordia standing left holding patera and scepter. Caracalla was forced to marry Plautilla causing great unhappiness. Caracalla exiled Plautilla to the Lipari Islands were she was murdered 205 CE. Concordia was the goddess of harmony and concord. She was a daughter of Ares and Aphrodite and as such presided over both marital harmony, soothing strife and discord, and harmonious action of soldiers in war.
