A deciduous conifer in the cypress family native to North Carolina and other areas of the Southwest, Midwest and Northeast. It can withstand very wet and even flooded conditions and also grows well in dry soils in cultivation. Expect it to reach 50 to 70 feet tall and 20 to 30 feet wide, eventually! The growth rate is medium and it is one of the most long-lived trees in the world. This would be a very nice addition to any large garden or wet areas in need of landscaping in a variety of regions. It can withstand temperatures as cold as -30 degrees Fahrenheit (zone 4a). Plant in full sun to partial shade.
