
Lidded goblet, anonymous, c. 1750 - c. 1759 Canvas Print
Jar with lid of clear, colorless glass, on cut baluster stem. Foot: trumpet-shaped, high rising; trunk baluster-shaped consisting of pear, two articulations and two nodi; calyx: bell-shaped with thick ground bottom in which air bubbles; lid: with ground button consisting of nodus, pear and point. Wheel carvings: on the chalice on one side three medallions with portraits of which the crowned middle Princess Anna of Great Britain and Ireland, the two others could be her children Prince William V and Princess Wilhelmina, Carolina. On the other side three medallions with monograms of which the middle one is crowned. The letters of the monograms are from left to right: P.H.I.O., A.P.C.I.O. and P.C.C.L. Further decoration consists mainly of wartrophies including banners with the lion with a bundle of arrows.
