This print is professionally printed and shipped from my home in West Seattle. It will come with a Limited Edition certificate and also include an essay from me reflecting on the following themes: Out the Window consists of abstract rectangles that create a frame around an open, unpainted center. This serves as a visual metaphor for an unknown future: what lies out the window is still undefined. We love to have security that things as they are right now will stay that way, but this just simply is not true. The future—personal and collective—is a wild, unpredictable animal. Unlike the other paintings in Horizons, this piece doesn’t offer a path, a reflection, or even a storm to ride out. It offers a blank space. An invitation. A possibility.
