Window to the La Sals

Blue hour at Delicate Arch in Moab Utah in the dead of winter is a magical and quiet place. The state park officials warned not to approach the main attraction due to icy conditions. That was my cue to set off for it. With micro spikes and camera gear ready I set off at sunset. As I approached the Arch there were only a handful of people that came to experience its awe-inspiring view. Long after the sun had set and others had left I remained alone in near darkness at the Arch. Blue hour set in as the blue, purple, and pink hues painted the sky for one last colorful splendor. With my aperture wide open and shutter slowed I began to shoot one of the most spectacular scenes I had ever laid eyes on. This photo is absolutely captivating and warms any room. It's natural frame to the snow capped La Sal Mountains in the background is simply stunning. Let your eyes wander the winter landscape with colors that warm the soul.
