Comfort - Polymer photogravure print - Edition 2021
" God is in the details " a close friend who studied architecture once mentioned this quote to me. It was said by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969), one of the most significant architects of the twentieth century. Mies followed a modernist “less is more” aesthetic, I find the much of my work relies on detail. Detail of the subject, details in the making of the object at hand, I very much enjoy this aesthetic and the work that is the process of printmaking. This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Gamblin stiff Portland black and sepia ink, with a dash of Charbonnel Geranium red ink on Hahnemühle Copperplate paper. I printed an edition of 12 numbered prints and 4 A/P prints. Hand-pulled print by Ray Bidegain Limited edition of 12 5.25 x 6.5 on an 11x15 sheet. Signed numbered and dated by the artist on the lower front.
