Fall Harvest - photogravure print - Edition 2021
I love to cook, and I love to eat. Often fruit comes into my kitchen in one way or another and I can't help but notice the beautiful, and sensual textures and shapes, I notice the gestures they make and the ways they change as they age I am drawn to them. So, of course, I make pictures along the way. I set this bunch of pomegranates and persimmons on the window sill and made a negative with my 8x10 camera. I wanted the texture and shape to sing so I made the plate larger than my usual size, this is an 8.25 x 10.25 and printed on a 15x20 sheet. This hand-pulled photogravure print is made with Gamblin bone black and sepia ink, with a dash of Charbonnel sanguine ink on Hahnemühle copperplate paper. I printed an edition of 8 numbered prints and 3 A/P prints. Hand-pulled print by Ray Bidegain Limited edition of 8 8.25 x 10.25 on a 15x20 sheet. Signed numbered and dated by the artist on the lower front.
