This is a wonderful early-20th century 14k gold full hunter case pocket watch. Functional, beautiful, and clearly beloved.  There is something about the act of holding time in the palm of your hand that is specific, ritual, distinct from the other methods of modern time--housed beautifully in a case that you can open and then click closed, put back in your pocket.
