Myrna, to dance and
When Myrna Loy left acting in order to contribute to the war effort it was the beginning of the 1940's, a time that somehow feels closer to our reality as it gets farther away. These earrings came into the world right around 1941 as a 14k gold rope chain bracelet, delightfully mobile with loose links that created a big presence without using too much gold. Getting to turn them into earrings was such a joy; playing on the mobility already contained in the chain links, we built them into drops that can function in a more traditional way in a single pierce on each ear, or can span from one pierce to another using another earring in your collection. The Idea is to let you play in any way that feels good to you. Each earring is about 3.5g--heavy enough to feel good and grounding, but not enough to pull. We hope they give you a chance to feel creative and powerful, because you are. Details: 14k gold (tested) earrings translated from a rope chain bracelet, originally made circa 1940 1.7
