Genesis, No. 1 weaving

The Genesis collection is a series of large round weavings handwoven by me.  This is the first weaving of the series. My weaving process is very organic and intuitive-based. I do not draw my designs beforehand. With this particular piece, I was trying to capture the movement of light in a cyclonic pattern. The materials used in this weaving include yarn remnants and yarn that I handfelted and handspun. The felted art yarn is comprised of merino wool and yarn bits from other weaving projects. This is a one-of-a-kind weaving.  The wall hanging measures 27" across, and it is ready to hang. Made in Portland, Oregon // 2017
