Hosta montana, Dwarf Hosta, Plantain Lilly.

  USDA Cold Hardiness Zone: 4 Native Range: East Asia. Soil: Moist soil conditions and neutral to low pH.  Light: Shade to part shade.  Height in the Garden: This clone reaches 8" to 10" tall with flower stalks up to 14" tall. Attributes: Compact, clumping form of Hosta montana with lavender flowers in mid summer. Deciduous in the cold months.  Notes: H. montana is wide spread and highly variable. This particular clone is on the small side and has not undergone any selective breeding to my knowledge; It's what nature has given us. Most of my plants will be flowering this month, July 2024.  Uses: Kusamono, shade garden.
