USDA Cold Hardiness Zone: 5 Native Range: East Asia. Soil: Consistently moist, not soggy. Neutral pH. Light: Full sun to light shade. Height in the Garden: Up to 45'  Attributes: Broadleaf, deciduous, small tree that is fantastic in the landscape and for bonsai culture.  Notes: This will make a metium size, leaning treewith fast taper and good roots. The trees in this batch are planted low to encourage root development. IThe trees were cut back early August, 2025 to encourage backbudding. Needs wound treatment; they close quickly with cut paste and vigorous growth. This tree had a lot going on inside of the canopy and needed lots of thinning work, shich is why it is sparse comparet to the other trees in this batch. It has a successfull root graft. Uses: Medium to small size bonsai tree.
