2011 Fore Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Youthful dark ruby in color, nearly opaque, suggesting a powerful wine typical of mountain vineyards. Yet the complex nose projects an unexpected elegance. Spicy aromas of sweet cherry, blackberry, caramel, vanilla, dried herb--thyme--and bay emerge against a background of toasty oak. The bright forward flavors reflect the aromas with ripe tannins, fruit, and acid in great balance, sustaining the lengthy finish. Our 2011 offers a wonderful example of how concentrated mountain fruit can still deliver a balanced and harmonious wine.
