Fore Family Vineyards Grenache Noir 2018
Fore Family Vineyards: Grenache Noir, Cobb Mountain Vineyard, Lake County 2018 Harvest date: October 12, 2018pH: 3.48Total acid(ta): 0.60alc: 14.6%Cases produced: 241 Color: Very attractive ruby brick red Aromas: A wonderful fruit-driven wine. The fresh scent of strawberries is first soon mingled with those of crème’ brulee, rich loam earth, and truffles. Some current and darker fruit notes linger in the glass. In The Mouth: A delicious wine. The same fruit-driven components appear again in this nicely balanced, mid-weight wine. There is a lively acidity on the front of the palette that is quickly followed by elements of strawberries and truffles. Some white pepper and almost floral flavors appear and carry through the finish. This wine was aged in neutral French oak barrels for 16 months. We wanted to really showcase what the natural fruit characteristics of Grenache are, and has grown by us on Cobb Mtn. To that end, we are hands-off in the cellar when possible allowing Native yeasts
