
Cloud Forest Lesson
ProblemOne of the world’s greatest concentrations of biodiversity occurs in the cloud forests between the eastern slopes of the tropical Andes and the Amazonian lowlands. However, local students living in rural southeastern Peru have had little access to these wonderous cloud forests so close to their home. With your gift, scientists with the Amazon Conservation Association can bring these children to the Wayqecha Research Station for a full day of learning and exploration of this natural treasure. The Gift The Wayqecha Biological Research Station is located in the Kosñipata Valley on the eastern slopes of the Andes Mountains of southeastern Peru, four hours from Cuzco. The station sits on approximately 8,200 acres spanning 7,200 - 12,000 feet above sea-level, from Andean cloud forest to grassland.
