Dunn, Howell Mountain, Cabernet Sauvignon 1986
Into neck 94 Points CellarTracker Member Dunn Howell Mountain: The First Four and More (Dan and Elise's, Mpls): Very dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour. This was part of a vertical of the first 4 vintages of Dunn Howell Mountain, '79, '80, '81, and '82 plus the '86 and '99 for good measure. These wines were all impressive in their own right, and their qulaity, consistency, and longevity are a testament to the dedication and winemaking of Randy Dunn. Not missing much from the first four vintages, this was also youthful, more structure, dark fruits, cedarbox, menthol, power and length. 9/17/2024 93 Points CellarTracker Member Flying high right now. Stewed red and black fruits with coffee, caramel, cedar, earth, leather, the list goes on. Cab bell pepper as well. Muscular oaky fruit on the palate. Cherries and leather. Tannins and acid keep freshness and the finish is long. 7/4/2024
