Received in Original Carton Hirsch Vineyard lies 12 miles northwest of Jenner, the seaside town where the mouth of the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean. It is comprised of a series of ridge tops ranging in elevation from 1,200 to 1,550 feet. This is San Andreas Fault territory, resulting in varied and complex soils. Located only 3 miles from the ocean, the climate can be erratic and unpredictable, with wide annual swings in moisture, temperature, storms and wind. Rainfall is abundant between October and April, with the summer dry and desert-like. Littorai is the longest continuous purchaser of Hirsh Vineyard fruit, starting in 1994. This vineyard is farmed using organic materials and biodynamic methods, not certified.  96 points James Suckling Very attractive, complex, spice and sous bois-scented nose with bright red cherries and blueberries. There’s a very silky mid-palate that carries a smooth, fleshy and long array of layered red cherries and pastry-like sheets of tannins. (
