95 Points CellarTracker Northern Rhone theme dinner at Min Jiang Goodwood. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl 1855. Appearance fine sediment, deep intensity, ruby colour with garnet rim. Thin legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of sous bois forest floor earth, feral animal meat that falls off with air,, nice dark fruits. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), smooth high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet tea leaves, savoury forest floor earth, sweet dark red plums. Big long flavourful finish. Very good quality. Great example of how you do not need lots of ripe big alcohol to achieve big flavour. Very well put together and drinking at peak already. 8/11/2023
