Armand Rousseau, Charmes-Chambertin 1990
2.0cm; damp stained label 95 points Burghound There is now some bricking evident on the rim. The elegantly perfumed and fully mature aromas offer a stunningly complex mélange of spice, leather, earth and ripe secondary fruit scents. There is fine richness to the relatively forward medium weight flavors that are not particularly dense though they do deliver exceptionally good length on the gorgeously textured and well-balanced finale where the only reproach worthy of note is a hint of warmth. This has now reached its apogee and while there is no risk of a decline anytime soon, indeed it can be held with confidence, neither is there anything further to be gained from holding this beauty longer. Multiple, and mostly consistent, notes as my scores have ranged from 93 to 95. (3/2019)
