
Domaine Tempier, Bandol, Cuvee Speciale La Louffe 1988
Very top shoulder 94 Points CellarTracker To give some background, this is a wine that Tempier has produced only twice: 1987 and 1988. It had previously (and subsequently) been included in La Miguoa, the same way that Cabassaou came out of La Tourtine. But here, it was felt that La Louffe took too much away from La Miguoa, and so after 1988, back into La Miguoa it went (except perhaps for bottles for the Peyraud family?). Today was one of the most difficult days I've had in a long time, yet having got through it, by chance there was no one here to celebrate with me. So choose something potentially very good, but not too flashy. Of the various bottles and magnums of this wine that I have, this is the only one that has not been through perfect storage (in fact, part of it has been far from perfect), so I decided to try this. Amazingly young and fresh with well-defined blackberry and black raspberry fruit in a medium-full body with the exquisite, smooth texture that I associate with L
