These beans are part of the Trinitario cacao family and come from the northwest part of Madagascar; Sambirano Valley. They are a natural Trinitario hybrid with a high presence of Criollo. Madagascar produces only 0.2% of the world’s cacao so this is a special treat. My supplier works directly with the farmers to help preserve this ultra-rare species.
