Yoshio Kangawa Born in 1963 in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Currenty bases in Hiroshima CIty. He creates vessels with a confortable surface, intend the user to place their palms every day. Utilies a wood-fired kiln to make a wide variety of pottery. He is also a specialist of making semi-porcelain known as "Katate", mainly for rice and tea bowls. The iron-glazed matte black is full of understated beauty, elegantly accepts any type of food. Many of his pieces are highly finished vessels, including rimmed plates and small bowls that plays a supporting role. Note: Each piece is hand work by the artist, even the same piece will have a slightly different expression.
