Aruncus dioicus is a bold architectural perennial with tall creamy white plumes rising above finely divided foliage. Resembling a large astilbe, it makes a statement in the late spring garden and adds a vertical accent to shade and woodland plantings. The male and female plants differ subtly in flower density, and the species is long lived and tolerant of seasonal flooding.
