I start by throwing each mug on the potters wheel, then trimming the bottom once it drys to leather hard. I then pull and attach the handle, cut out the tiny thumb rest appliqué and apply it to the top. While the mugs "cure" in a damp box, I start rolling out slabs to make the junimo appliqués along with the tiny arms, legs, eyes and other details.
