About Ando Hiroshige (1797-1858) was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist of the Edo period, known for his landscapes, particularly his series of prints titled "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido" and "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo." Hiroshige began his career as an apprentice to a woodblock printmaker, and he went on to create thousands of prints over the course of his career.
