A fine George II carved and gilded eagle console table having a marble top supported by carved brackets and the carved eagle on a faux marble base. In the manner of William Kent. Similar to the pair of console tables (of foxes) at Stourhead in Wilton in execution. An owl console table (Lot 96) attributed to John Boson sold at Sotheby’s , Benacre Hall, Suffolk sale, May 9-11 has identical support and base to this table English circa 1735.
