This comes from a trip with Johnny Ohlandt Sr who was keeper of the Morris Island Lighthouse. His Son, Johnny Jr. ,the Veterinarian, is now keeper. At the time, a large sand bar included the Lighthouse such that one could walk right up to its foundation. Entrance is not permitted and a strong gate with a heavy lock blocks entry; unless you are keeper of the light. For the first time in my life, I was allowed entry to the tower and witnessed amazing vistas of the region.
