SCAR

Serengeti, Tanzania   In the Serengeti you will see wild prides of lions, but “Scar” is special. Scars on his face show evidence of the many battles fought to maintain position as the alpha male of the pride. We observed Scar for several days and then finally, when the lighting was right, dangled my body outside of the Safari vehicle while my friend held my legs, desperate for the perfect shot. This photo, with the help of a little editing, is my artistic approach at displaying the raw intensity that radiates off this fearless apex predator.
