Sporadic Groups Long Sleeve Tee
Groups can be thought of as the possible ways that anything imaginable can be symmetric. Simple groups are like the primes of groups, the building blocks for all groups. Every simple group is a member of 18 countably infinite families of groups of Lie type, besides the 26 groups shown here, termed the sporadic groups. Subquotient relations are represented by arrows to show the structure and relation between the sporadic groups. It is of note that 20 are subquotients of the so-called Monster group (F1), a mind-bendingly complicated mathematical object. Of note is that a 27th group is shown here, 2F4(2)', known as the Tits group (after Jacques Tits), as while it does fall into one of the 18 infinite families of simple groups, it is not a group of Lie type (like every other member of all families), and so is sometimes considered a sporadic group.
