1975 Rolex Red Submariner (Ref. 1680) Mk. V Dial

The Rolex Submariner ref. 1680 is a stunning classic. First introduced in 1969, the ref. 1680 includes the date, unlike previous Submariners (ie, Ref. 5512 and 5513). The infamous Red Submariner is also a ref. 1680, which has the word "Submariner" in red lettering and was produced by Rolex from 1969-1975.  The Mk. V Red Submariner dial differentiates itself with the following details of the text located above the 6 o'clock – Most importantly, the red text of the Mk V is applied directly to the dial, whereas previous versions also featured white text beneath, and the red text printed on top. The "6's" of the depth rating remain open, similar to the previous dial variant; however, the opening in the Mk.
