Journey to the Center of the Earth by Janet Wright

Artist StatementI loved reading Jules Verne's scientific adventure novels growing up, and decided to design covers for three of his classics - 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Around the World in 80 Days. Each book is about an epic adventure to a different portion of the earth (the ocean, the center, and around the circumference), and I created a unifying visual element to tie the designs together. The circle in each illustration represents the earth, and the gradient represents each journey. — Janet Wright
