Immaculate Heart of Mary & Most Chaste Heart of St. Joseph Earrings
The inspiration for this design came from the consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Her Seven Sorrows, and the Most Chaste & Courageous Heart of St. Joseph. Roses, representing Mary's joys, her sufferings, and heralds of her glories. A symbol of the union between Christ and Mary, roses have appeared in some of the miraculous Marian apparitions worldwide. 7 swords, representing the events in Mary's life that made her a unique participant in Christ's own sacrifice and sufferings. Lilies, representing Saint Joseph's virtue, holiness, innocence, and obedience to God: “he did as the angel commanded” (Mt 1:24), his faithfulness to Mary, his chastity, and his purity because he respected her virginity and remained celibate throughout their marriage: “he had no relations with her” (Mt 1:25a). The carpenter's square, representing Saint Joseph's trade as the gospel of Matthew indicates: “Is he [Jesus] not the carpenter’s son?” (Mt 13:55). Prayer to the Immaculate Heart of Mary:
