QUARTZ BETA (or High Quartz) octagons - size: around 1/2" crystals - 1/2 lb.

BETA QUARTZ or HIGH QUARTZ Bipyramidal Octagons Beta quartz is a high temperature form of quartz that is formed around 573-degrees centigrade.  It cannot exist at room temperature, so the title of this listing is actually incorrect.  We are not selling beta quartz.  These are paramorphs after beta-quartz - but everyone refers to them as beta quartz anyway.  Beta-quartz is most commonly found in silica-rich volcanic rocks like rhyolite, in which it occurs as stubby, bipyramidal octagons and usually gray crystal paramorphs embedded in the matrix. These crystals range from a blue-grey to a more golden tone and have bits of the rhyolite matrix still attached.  Some crystals may have holes or pits, which is a natural occurrence from formation.  Like us, not all crystals are perfectly formed.  This can refine their potential and is not a liability.   Beta Quartz is said to be a very powerful stone for metaphysical purposes including dream interpretation, assisting with vision
