Using Things Up

Inspiration:Employing a quick, intuitive approach, this abstract piece dynamically explores light and dark contrasts. It was created by experimenting with both wet and dried paints, including the application of dry pigment like pastel sticks for rough marks and coarse textures. Intricate, contrasting patterns were also drawn directly into wet paint with a pencil, adding depth and detail to otherwise solid areas. The result is a work loosely reminiscent of a landscape, interpreted through a powerful abstract lens.
