Our PNW native vine maple: palmate light green leaves, bright yellow, orange, or red in fall; light green young bark, beautiful in winter on meandering branches. Often thought of as an understory plant, it is very adaptable. Some of the most memorable specimens I've seen in our Northwest woods have been in full sun in rocky soil. Gracious and graceful.
